Sebastian Vettel will step into the Aston Martin car in 2021. Online, the team have already made great use of their new signboard, but according to Otmar Szafnauer, the German has also made quite an impression in the factory.
Sebastian Vettel was told before the 2020 Formula One season even started that he would no longer be needed at Ferrari in 2021. After much deliberation, Vettel decided to stay in F1 and was offered a chance at Aston Martin. He has visited there several times now, and it is making an impression.
Vettel makes a huge impression
''He is really very hungry to perform again. We have already started to work with him this year and you just see that he asks a lot of questions and all the right questions. He is very much looking for more information. One engineer already described him as a performance engineer behind the wheel," Szafnauer said in a conversation with Sky Sports.
''He wants to know as much, if not more, than the performance engineer who works on the car, whose job it is to know every detail of the car. Seb wants to understand that and preferably more. That's a good quality to have and he's brought that to our team. He wants to have fun again in Formula 1, but fun for him means being competitive'', concludes the Aston Martin team boss.
