'Raikkonen is still one of the best drivers in F1'

Proving yourself in Formula 1 is no easy task and certainly not alongside the most experienced driver. But Antonio Giovinazzi believes having Kimi Raikkonen as a teammate is also a blessing.
The best person to compare a driver with in Formula 1 is, of course, the teammate. After all, that is the only driver who drives the same equipment and has to deal with the same team. Antonio Giovinazzi therefore immediately had a difficult task in his rookie season in 2019, but the Italian clearly showed last year that he has learned many things.
According to Giovinazzi, many lessons come from The Iceman. "I think I learned a lot of things from him. Especially in the races, because Kimi is one of the best in managing tyres and managing the race in general. So I am learning a lot from him and I am very happy that I can drive next season alongside him because I am not done learning," the Alfa Romeo driver told Crash.net.
Being compared to a world champion
Giovinazzi is not only happy to have Raikkonen as a teammate to learn some wise lessons, but also to show what he is capable of. "You are always compared to your teammate, so I am very happy that it is Kimi. I think he is still one of the best drivers in F1, he is a world champion with a lot of experience. So to drive in front of him, to fight with him, that is something that is very important for my career and for the people who follow F1. I am very proud of that!"
The driver also has no intention of ending his career with Alfa Romeo, because as an Italian he obviously has one big dream. "Since the beginning of my racing career the dream has been to drive for Ferrari. We'll see what will happen, but I will definitely give everything to make it a reality," Giovinazzi concluded.
