Team boss: 'Then he has chances to go to Red Bull or other competitive team'

Franz Tost is extremely confident in his driver line-up for 2021. Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda will have to ensure that AlphaTauri creep towards the top-five in the Constructors' Championship. The team boss has high praise for both talents.
Gasly is the experienced men at AlphaTauri. He will have to lead the team initially at the start of 2021. "I think it's good for Pierre to be here. He loves the team and we love him. And if he shows the same performance as last season, he has chances to go to Red Bull or another competitive team. He has everything it takes to become a successful driver," Tost told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
After a strong 2020, Gasly was naturally hoping to replace Alexander Albon at Red Bull. The choice of Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, however, fell on Sergio Perez. The Mexican was only given a one-year contract, which means that after next season Gasly has another chance to drive alongside Max Verstappen.
Gasly gets competition from Tsunoda
That is also something Tsunoda hopes to do in due course. Things have moved very fast lately with the still only twenty year old driver. "The key element for a driver is how quickly and well he is able to transfer the information from the engineers to the car. Yuki is doing a fantastic job of that, I think he will be very competitive after just a few races. He understands engineering and he is good at duelling on the track. He has already shown in Formula 1 that he can overtake very well."
