Tost expects mistakes from Tsunoda: "Of course, he will have some crashes"

Yuki Tsunoda will make his debut for AlphaTauri in 2021. There are immediate high expectations for the fast Japanese driver, who seems to be adapting well to Formula 1 cars. However, team boss Franz Tost does not expect everything to go perfectly straight away.
Points possible in first few races?
Tsunoda had a strong Formula 2 season and after one season in Formula 2 he made the switch to Formula 1. Helmut Marko sees a lot of potential in the young driver and placed him in the AlphaTauri alongside Pierre Gasly for 2021.
Team boss Tost is very pleased with Tsunoda's appointment. "We expect his learning curve to be quite steep, so he should be able to achieve good results quickly", the Austrian explained to Crash.net.
Making mistakes is part of the programme
But Tost does not expect Tsunoda to be faultless straight away. "Of course, he will have some crashes, that’s part of the development programme, but what is very extraordinary on his side is the car control." Tost also praised his speed in fast corners and his braking ability. Tost is sure that Tsunoda will show some great racing.
