The 2021 Formula 1 season is just around the corner and all the drivers have already started testing. Meanwhile, the world is still in the grip of the coronavirus. Max Verstappen is careful with the virus around and knows that one wrong move can cause the virus to strike.
During an interview with Formule 1.nl, Verstappen talked about how he deals with the corona virus. The Dutch driver knows that danger lurks in a small corner. He has therefore been very careful during the winter break and has not been partying.
"You can be so careful, you only have to touch something wrong and it happens. It can always happen, the most careful people have been infected."
Verstappen not taking any risks
The Red Bull driver is currently getting ready for the upcoming season and knows that in addition to the physical tests, there will be special tests before each race. Last year there were just a lot of infections among drivers, but last year's champion Lewis Hamilton, for example, contracted the virus. In addition, Verstappen's new colleague Sergio Perez and Jonathan Wheatley, the Red Bull director, became infected with the virus. Verstappen is taking no chances with the virus and is trying to live as safely as possible towards the races.
"At least I haven't been to Dubai, I haven't gone partying," Verstappen pronounced during the interview. He has avoided Dubai, where other drivers such as Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc have been infected. Verstappen will return to action for the first time in a few weeks' time when the new season gets underway at the Bahrain International Circuit.
