Red Bull Racing 's RB16B made an excellent impression at its debut in Bahrain. Not only because Max Verstappen drove the fastest time and most laps in it, but also because there were a number of innovations on the car. Peter Windser will update you on his Youtube Channel Peter Windser will inform you about the rear suspension.
"We only saw two pictures of the RB16B before Bahrain, but now it was there in all its glory. They have that new rear suspension at the back, which gives an aerodynamic advantage. It's not as dramatic as on the Mercedes. That's because of the token system, which meant they had to attach it above the gearbox."
'Newey will have been lying awake'
In addition to the rear suspension deflecting further back, Red Bull says it has very cleverly packed the exhaust system under the rear wing. So Adrian Newey has done a good job, but Windsor doubts the designer is happy with the overall course of events.
“Not because he can’t think where to go with the car, but because of this token system which is I imagine to him totally abhorrent and against everything that he stands for as a creative engineer. But around that system, it looks like they’ve done a really good job with that car."
