In a new interview with Sergio Perez, the brand new Red Bull driver has been reflecting back on his two races with the team, and analyses what steps he still needs to make to reach the intended level as soon as possible; a bar that is obviously set high by Max Verstappen.

Perez said, in a recent video on his YouTube channel, to be fed up with the gap he still has at Red Bull, especially as the material he has at his disposal this year is extremely competitive. Perez: "For me at the moment it’s very important that I get on top of the car."

The driver continued: "I need to feel comfortable. Right now i’m just having to think a lot. I just hope I can make myprogress soon enough, because right now we have a very competitive car. I have to be there."

Winning team

Also, Perez foresees a worthy challenger for the title in his current team. He explained "As soon as you arrive into Red Bull Racing you know why they are so successful. From Christian, Adrian, Dr. Marko, the whole team, how it is structured. It’s very powerful and they can really do great things.

"It’s a massive opportunity for me", the Mexican driver continued. "I’m just making big steps. I know where I’m lacking, and I see what I can improve on so that I can get a lot closer to the level I should be."
