Tsunoda: 'It’s been a frustrating race weekend for me'
- Toby McLuskie
Yuki Tsunoda was the only driver to retire from the Spanish Grand Prix today, as the rookie's engine stopped and wouldn't fire back up. After struggling in qualifying yesterday, the Japanese driver explained how it's been a tough weekend to take.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Tsunoda expressed his feelings and confusion about what actually happened. "It’s been a frustrating race weekend for me, I’m obviously disappointed to not have finished the race as I think my pace at the start was quite good, but it was completely out of my control."
"We don’t currently know what happened to the car, so we’ll investigate this after it returns to the garage and then we’ll review everything together with the engineers."
Excitement for Monaco
The rookie will make his Monaco debut in Formula 1 in two weeks time and it'll be his first time racing in Monaco in his career, a track he is excited for. "I just need to look forward to the next race in Monaco now, it’ll be my first time racing there and I’m excited to drive on such an iconic circuit."
