Wolff on Verstappen: 'Fantastic star for the future, but not the only one'

Mercedes is in contention with Red Bull for the world championship this season. While Max Verstappen represents the Austrian racing team, Lewis Hamilton is going for his eighth world title with Mercedes.
Several media linked the name of Verstappen to a switch to Mercedes. For years it was simply the best team and the Dutchman wanted to become world champion. Team boss Toto Wolff stated in conversation with Motorsport.com Mercedes is looking at Verstappen, but has no immediate plans to take him over.
"Well, you always look at the group of drivers who could be in a Mercedes in the future," Wolff stated. "But we are not... Max is absolutely a fantastic star for the future, but he is not the only one. I see a group of very good and young drivers coming who are not currently in a machine that can be won with. It will be good to follow how that unfolds."
Disappointing performance from Bottas
Valtteri Bottas can still count on a lot of criticism for his performance. Where Bottas still failed to live up to the high expectations, Hamilton remained world champion in recent years. Also this year the performance of Bottas lags behind his teammate.
