A crash between Verstappen and Hamilton is "just a matter of time"

In all four of the races held in 2021, we have seen on-track overtaking between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, and the two title rivals have also hit each other. A crash is therefore only a matter of time according to McLaren team boss Zak Brown.
Great rivalry
The title fight between Hamilton and Verstappen is something Brown has welcomed. "I think rivalry is great for the sport and it's good that these two guys are competing against each other," he told Motorsport.com. "I think it's great for Formula 1. Lewis has had it pretty easy, apart from his one year with Nico [Rosberg]."
Brown praises the great rivalry between the two. "I think Max has got Lewis to go the extra mile, not that he needed to do that much. But he's definitely at the top of his game," Brown continued. "I think it's clear that Lewis is a very clever driver. You can see him just waiting to strike and not being too eager. I think that's his experience coming forward."
Crash inevitable
The tough battle for the title, Brown believes, also creates opportunities for McLaren. "I think it's only a matter of time until they're both determined not to go sideways in turn one and not get out of it either." A crash between Hamilton and Verstappen is therefore inevitable according to Brown.
