Verstappen to Sainz: 'Carlos, you've ruined it man'

With Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris in the top three, Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix had the second youngest ever podium in Formula One. The record stays with the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix with Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz on the podium.
Sainz has ruined it
During the press conference after the race the drivers are told that this is the second youngest podium ever. Verstappen immediately hooks into that sharply. "Carlos, you've ruined it man. You're too old." The three drivers at the press conference clearly have good chemistry with each other and Sainz immediately hooks into it. "I knew you were going to say this. I knew it was coming. We were talking about it exactly ten minutes ago."
The drivers are asked about the mix of age, experience and ability and whether this is the generation of the future. Sainz gets the honour of answering first from Verstappen and Norris. "I can start because I've been teammates with both of them and I can tell you that these two guys are very decent behind the wheel of a Formula One car. A bit young and inexperienced at times, but they are definitely very, very fast. I think Formula 1 is in good hands for the future."
high-level drivers
Sainz continued a little more seriously, "I think the level of the drivers this year, in general, is super high. If you look at everyone's qualifying laps and you see not only the young drivers but also people like Lewis, it's just an incredible level and I'm happy to share this grid with so many talented people and compare myself to them and see how you can do it, because it pushes you like no other and it's good as a driver to feel pushed and to feel that you always have to keep finding new limits."
