'Mercedes will be on par with Red Bull in Baku'

Max Verstappen won the race in Monaco, but what was perhaps most noticeable was the revival of Ferrari. The Italian team was very fast all weekend with pole position for Charles Leclerc and second place for Carlos Sainz.
Mercedes equal with Red Bull
However, things will be completely different again at the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, predicts Timo Glock in his column for Sky Sports Germany. "I'm very curious to see if Red Bull can sustain its performance. It's also a street circuit, but it's completely different to Monaco in terms of the circuit's characteristics. There are not so many extremely sharp corners there, but more 90-degree corners."
Mercedes will therefore not find it as difficult in Baku as they did in Monaco, thinks Glock. "Mercedes will not have such a big disadvantage here in terms of the bigger wheelbase. Mercedes will be on par with Red Bull."
Ferrari no longer third team
For Ferrari, who just did very well in Monaco, it will be a lot more difficult in Baku. "There is also the extremely long straight there, which will be a disadvantage for Ferrari. The Scuderia lags behind in terms of top speed and engine power."
Glock therefore believes the balance of power will be a little different again in Azerbaijan. "I'm sure we won't see Ferrari as the third team there. I think McLaren, in the person of Lando Norris, is more likely to play that role."
