Verstappen and Perez get new Honda engine for French Grand Prix
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Pierre Gasly will all receive a new Honda engine at Paul-Ricard for the French Grand Prix. Both Red Bull Racing drivers and the AlphaTauri driver had not yet used a second engine and will now do so.
It is striking that Yuki Tsunoda is the only Honda driver without a new engine. That is probably because he already had to replace his engine in Imola after his crash. With the new changes to the Red Bull engine, the Alpine drivers are the only ones without a new engine so far this season.
Not a forced change
The new engine for Verstappen means that he will be using his second engine this season. Most likely the introduction of the new engine was calculated by Honda, to use a new engine after seven Grands Prix.
