For the first time in the hybrid era Red Bull Racing have won three races in a row. After Monaco and Azerbaijan, Red Bull also won the French Grand Prix. Christian Horner was extremely happy after the Grand Prix, he explains to Sky Sports.

"Really unbelievable. It's payback for what happened earlier this year though. It's terrible to be in the lead in the race and that you still have a long way to go. We finally made the decision and went for the two-stop," explained Horner. The race seemed to be a continuous duel between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, with the Dutchman the eventual winner.

Lessons learned from Barcelona

"Fortunately, that paid off. It really was a phenomenal Grand Prix and also great from Sergio that he made the one-stopper work. A great team performance today". Horner also looks back to Barcelona, earlier this year. There Mercedes used exactly the same tactics and in doing so beat Verstappen to eventually win the race. This time it was Verstappen who won and also managed to take the fastest race lap.

"It's really a team effort. The people at the strategy team look at the data and make the decision. We didn't want to put ourselves in the situation again, like in Barcelona. That's what we did and it paid off today," Horner concluded.
