The fastest pit stop was once again completed by the Red Bull Racing team in Austria. Max Verstappen's four tyres were changed in 2.09 seconds. It earns the Milton Keynes based racing team another 25 points in the battle for the DHL Fastest Pitstop Award.
Aston Martin was the runner-up in Spielberg with a time of 2.22 seconds. Behind them, it's very exciting, because up to number six the difference is only six hundredths of a second. It is remarkable that the complete top-five consists of five different teams.
After eight Grands Prix Red Bull already has twice as many points as its nearest rival Mercedes. The German team is currently battling it out with Williams and Aston Martin for second place in the standings.
As of next week, pit stops will reportedly be three-tenths of a second longer due to new FIA safety regulations. Red Bull is a big opponent of this. Verstappen's team even suspects that it has been done at the behest of title rival Mercedes.
