Perez continues to improve: "We all know how good Max is"
- GPblog.com
Sergio Perez fell just short of a podium finish at the Styrian Grand Prix. After a late pit stop by Red Bull Racing, he moved towards Valtteri Bottas, but fell a lap short of the target. He will be hoping for a second chance in the second race weekend in Austria.
Pérez had approached Bottas to half a second when the race was finished. "We were much faster than him. We only had half a lap left," he said at the press conference to the likes of Motorsport-Total.com. His goal for the Austrian Grand Prix is therefore clear. "Definitely the podium, that's the goal."
Perez doesn't think it's good enough yet
By now Pérez has found his feet at Red Bull Racing, although he admits it was harder than expected. What does he think of his own performance at the moment? "Ask me that again in five races," he says with a smile.
"We all know how good Max is," he continues. "But I'm focused on my side so I can get out of the car. It's a completely different world to what I was used to." He sees progress every weekend though, and sees that as just the thing to keep improving. "It's still not enough, I always want more."
