Full results FP3: Verstappen gives clear signal to Mercedes with a big gap
- GPblog.com
In the last free practice Red Bull has given a clear signal to Mercedes. On Friday it was thought that Mercedes were the fastest, but after the third free practice the cards were shuffled again. Max Verstappen set the fastest time by almost six tenths, followed by Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton, who saw his fastest time taken away.
Behind the top three are surprisingly Pierre Gasly and Antonio Giovinazzi. Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez drove the sixth and seventh times, followed by Fernando Alonso and Charles Leclerc. Sebastian Vettel celebrates his birthday today and drove the tenth fastest time in the final free practice session.
The McLaren drivers were particularly disappointing. Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo were not in the top ten and ended up on the fifteenth and sixteenth time. At 14:00 UK time the drivers will go on track for the qualification, for the Austrian Grand Prix.
