Honda overjoyed after pole, but also realistic: 'We're preparing for that!'

At Red Bull Racing and Honda they can keep on celebrating. The engine manufacturer is not only happy with the performance of Max Verstappen, but also of the other drivers at Red Bull and AlphaTauri.
After Max Verstappen's performance last week at the Red Bull Ring, it was expected that the Dutchman would dominate again. Despite not being happy with his lap, he managed to take pole again and leave Mercedes far behind. And so did teammate Sergio Perez.
At Honda, they are therefore enormously pleased with the two Red Bull Racing drivers. "Today was another great display from Max, who took his third consecutive pole position, while his team-mate Checo’s strong performance to take third place puts us in an encouraging position for tomorrow’s race," said Toyoharu Tanabe on Honda's Twitter channel.
More parties than just Red Bull Racing
The top man at the engine manufacturer is not only happy with the Red Bull drivers, but also those from sister team AlphaTauri. "Pierre is driving very consistently and for the third race in a row, he qualified sixth, while Yuki secured his best ever F1 qualifying result, seventh fastest this afternoon so all four of our drivers are well placed at Red Bull's home track," Tanabe continued.
However, the technical director is not yet optimistic. "There could be bad weather at some point during the race and we will prepare for any eventuality ready to make the most of our excellent grid positions," the Japanese concludes confidently.
