In Great Britain Formula 1 will run a sprint qualifying for the first time. Pierre Gasly thinks it is a good idea not to jump to any conclusions after one of the three scheduled sprint qualifying sessions, and therefore wants to wait for the other two first.

Three weekends are scheduled in which F1 will hold sprint qualifiers. The first of these will be a 17-lap race at Silverstone to determine the grid for the British Grand Prix.

Gasly doesn't want to jump to conclusions

Despite the fact that conclusions will probably be drawn after Silverstone, Gasly wants to wait with this. "I think it's fair to wait for all three weekends and if there are positive results and people like it, why not keep it in the future?", Gasly says at Motorsport-Total.com.

"We have to make up the balance after all three weekends. What does it deliver? Does it really make things more exciting? Because that's what it's all about in the end," the AlphaTauri driver stressed. Gasly does say that the format doesn't need to be changed.
