Russell on possible switch: "I can let you know that"

George Russell says we shouldn't expect any big announcement at Silverstone regarding his seat for 2022. The young Briton reveals he hasn't signed on to anything yet.
No announcement at Silverstone
Russell has long been seen as the ideal replacement for the mediocre performing Valtteri Bottas. The Williams driver has been a Mercedes junior for many years and is seen by many as world championship material. Russell is therefore expected to take his place in the Mercedes alongside Lewis Hamilton in 2022.
But we shouldn't expect an announcement at Silverstone just yet according to Russell: "With regards to my drive for next year nothing has been signed or sealed and nothing will be announced in Silverstone so I can let you know that," he said at the F1 Nation podcast.
Eye still on Williams
Rather than go on about Mercedes, Russell prefers to talk about the improvements being made at Williams: "I’ve said this numerous times but I think the change in structure at Williams is incredibly exciting. The team has finished last for the past three years in a row and I’m pretty confident that won’t be the case again next year."
