Nobody will travel to Silverstone with as much momentum and confidence as Max Verstappen and his team Red Bull Racing. The team have won 5 races in a row and have been strong at every track except Barcelona. Verstappen even won a race at Silverstone last season, so confidence is high. Will Max deliver the final blow to Lewis Hamilton, Toto Wolff and co. in England?
Opportunities
At the official press conference on the eve of the Silverstone Grand Prix Max answers questions from the press. Can he hold off Mercedes again? The Dutchman's love for the track will certainly not be lacking. "It is one of my favourite circuits because there are many fast corners. As a driver, you enjoy that in a Formula 1 car. It is difficult to say in advance if this race can be won. We know Mercedes will come with updates, so they are close anyway. We have to see how we perform here. The format with the sprint race is also different.
After years of frustration, the Dutchman can now finally have equipment with which he can really have a go at a title. Can he handle the pressure? "That's nothing new for me. But I have done that in other categories as well. You stay focused behind the wheel anyway. It's not easy to drive an F1 car. People might think you do it with your eyes closed, but those people would be out of breath after two laps."
Keep hammering
After qualifying in Austria, we heard a disappointed Verstappen. He indicated that he wanted to keep things focused above all else. "We are very happy with how the last race weekends went, but it can always be better. We are looking for that improvement again this weekend. We have to work hard, that's what I always stress in the team. That will also be the case this weekend," said the championship leader.
