Valtteri Bottas secured third place in qualifying for the first ever sprint race, which takes place on Saturday at Silverstone. During qualifying he gave a tow to teammate Hamilton, helping him to a faster time. He also admitted this in his interview after the session.

David Coulthard already mentioned during the interview with Bottas that it looked like he was going to give Hamilton a tow in Q3. Not taking up the suggestion initially, the Finnish driver indicated that he was pleased with the result. "I think it was a good qualifying based on what was in the practice on how fast the Red Bull was to get on pole as a team," he said.

Bottas not denying team player role

"I was the first car out in Q3," he continued. However, Coulthard has no intention of letting go of the subject of the alleged tow, asking if he was indeed taking on the role of team player to give Hamilton a tow.

This Bottas cannot deny: "Yeah! The agreement was to get a good result for the team."
