Hot weather at Silverstone expected, advantage for Red Bull?
- GPblog.com
All weekend it has been extremely dry at Silverstone. No British weather with rain and wind, but instead a lot of blue skies and high temperatures. Those temperatures rose the last few days and today it promises to be very warm again.
Weather.com The weather report states that the air temperature will be 29 degrees at 15:00 when the race starts. This temperature will remain like this until the end of the race, which is good news for Red Bull Racing as their car handles a lot better in warmer temperatures compared to Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes.
Perfect dry conditions
The wind is also not a major concern for the drivers. A light wind of six kilometres per hour won't cause any problems, so it's almost windless at Silverstone.
The blue sky of the past few days will also be visible today. The expectation is that there is a 0 percent chance of rain, so the umbrellas will only be used against the sunlight. The rain tyres can be put away because there is no chance that they will be used.
