Marko furious after crash: 'Relationship Verstappen and Hamilton is over'

The Hungarian Grand Prix was just a few hundred metres old when hopes of a good result for Red Bull Racing were dashed by a mistake from Valtteri Bottas. By braking too late at the rainy start he brought an early end to the race for a handful of drivers, including Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
Helmut Marko spoke about the moment he saw the crash happen. "Of course I was furious, more than furious even," he said to NewstalkZB. "Another Mercedes driver took out both our cars. The damage to Perez's car is massive and the engine is written off. Max's car could just be repaired to stay in the race, but was nowhere near competitive."
Marko frustrated by Mercedes drivers' actions
"That's the second weekend we've been taken out by a Mercedes," continued the Red Bull Racing advisor. "We've lost the lead in the championship, both in the constructors and drivers, and that's very annoying."
According to Marko, the relationship between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, if there was one, is therefore over. "You have to look ahead and focus on future races, but that relationship is over," concluded the 78-year-old Austrian.
