Williams recovers: 'A relief to see they're on the way back'

Williams have had a tough time off the track in recent years, which has meant that their on-track performance has also been pretty mediocre. This year, however, there is light at the end of the tunnel once again.
This is also the opinion of Williams legend Patrick Head. He says in the Beyond the Grid Podcast Head that he is happy that there is progress in the process.
"Being involved with the team for almost forty years, it hurt to see it go so bad the last ten years. In my day we didn't always do well either, but for the most part, we did compete at the top. So it's a relief to see they're back on track. I'm still in touch with the team boss, but I'm not giving out any big advice." In doing so, he also gives credit to the management and people who have taken over from the Williams family.
"I think Capito and the people he brought with him really add something. A lot of employees had been there a long time but needed real leadership. I think they've gotten that now. But: They didn't do it on their own of course."
Not stable enough yet
Despite the fact that everything is a lot better than in previous years and two cars scored points in Hungary, the car is not yet able to really compete for the points. Head also sees this.
"Williams is still just a little bit lacking to compete for the points, but the people who are there now are determined to come back. Also, the financial situation after the takeover by Dorilton Capital has improved a lot. I don't know much about the finances, but I understand that things are looking up in that area."
Whether Williams can continue this line towards the 2022 season, when many things will change to both the rules and the car, remains to be seen.
