Hamilton on choice Russell and Bottas: "Wanting the best for the team"

Mercedes still has to make a choice who will drive next to Lewis Hamilton in 2022. As is well known the choice is between Valtteri Bottas and George Russell, but Lewis Hamilton refused to express his preference out loud in the press conference at Spa-Francorchamps. He leaves the decision to his employer.
"Toto is a great leader, we are in good contact. We want the best for the team and ultimately it's up to him and the Mercedes board to make the decision," Hamilton told Motorsport-Total.com among others. The seven-time world champion says he supports any decision, although he would like to add that his relationship with Bottas is 'better than ever.'
Mercedes updates work
The updates Mercedes introduced at Silverstone and the Hungaroring seem to be working extremely well and the momentum has shifted a little from Red Bull to the German formation. Hamilton sees that his team is on the right track. "We've got better, without a doubt. We've taken a step forward in our processes. That's very positive to see."
After his overtaking race in Hungary, Hamilton became dizzy for a moment when getting out of the car. The 36-year-old driver is still suffering from his corona infection from last year. In Belgium, he gave an update on his health. "I feel in better shape now, but I continue to focus on my health," he said.
