Max Verstappen knows that Sergio Perez will be his teammate again at Red Bull Racing in 2022. The Dutchman is happy with the news that 'Checo' will stay with the team and speaks of a great collaboration.
Verstappen works well with Perez
On Friday between the first and second free practice, the news came out that Perez will stay with Red Bull for another year. The Mexican is doing what he needs to do according to team boss Christian Horner and teammate Verstappen is also happy that Perez will drive for Red Bull for another year.
"It’s also great that Checo will be with the Team next year, we have a good relationship so I’m happy to continue working together to try and score a lot of points for the Team for the rest of this season and of course next year," Verstappen said in a Red Bull press release.
Fourth teammate in four years
This is the first time in a long time that Verstappen will have a teammate for longer than a year and a half. Since Daniel Ricciardo left the team in 2018, Verstappen has had Pierre Gasly as a teammate for half a season and then Alexander Albon who lasted a year longer, but never really managed to break through.
