The second free practice session was not Charles Leclerc's session. The Ferrari driver struggled to set fast times throughout the hour and he eventually had to leave the session early after parking his car in the wall.

"We still have a lot of work to do," Leclerc opens on his team's website. "We have quite a bit of work to do. FP1 was alright but FP2 was a bit more difficult. We’ve got tonight to work on the set-up of the car and hopefully we can have a better day tomorrow."

Leclerc had a dramatic afternoon session. The Monegasque man was unable to set fast lap times and had to leave the session early to finish in eighteenth place. Only the Haas F1 drivers were unable to set faster lap times.

Balance was good, but performance wasn't

"I was reasonably happy with the car balance but the performance is not where we expected it to be. The track conditions were tricky but it was the same for everyone. It looks like it will remain like this for the rest of the weekend, so we have to get used to it," continued Leclerc.

The two-time Grand Prix winner says he regrets hitting the wall towards the end of FP2. "But tomorrow and Sunday will be the days that count and I will make sure to learn from my mistake."
