While the Belgian Grand Prix ended in disappointment for both drivers and teams, the fans in the stands were perhaps most robbed, especially as it now appears they will not receive any financial compensation for their tickets. The Race paints a picture of the disillusionment that took place at the sodden Spa-Francorchamps from fan stories.

After waiting for hours in the rain, first for the start and then for the eventual decision to end the entire race after two laps behind the safety car, fans went home disappointed or to the flooded campsites. As the race did take place officially, the organisation of Spa is not obliged to compensate these fans, something that caused outrage among fans and some drivers.

Speaking to the race fans in attendance express their anger at the situation. "I feel completely robbed after this whole experience," says one. Another fan states, "hearing the podium ceremony and its celebratory music felt like a smack in the face"

"I spent more than a month's rent to be here," begins one Dutch supporter. "I don’t think I will ever make that commitment again."
