In front of a frenzied crowd, Max Verstappen drove to the 17 victory of his career in the premier class of motorsports. With this victory he did not only impress his fans and competitors, but also his Dutch fellow racers. Chinese-Dutch driver Ho-Pin Tung speaks of the best race he has ever seen.
"That must have been one of the best races I've ever seen," the driver begins in an analysis on his own Twitter account. "Breathtaking, that atmosphere! Historic."
Extremely controlled
"Congratulations of course go to Verstappen," he continues. "Sharp, faultless and above all controlled, under such enormous pressure. Verstappen lost relatively less due to traffic, but this is not luck."
As leader of the race, Verstappen had to navigate the heavy traffic on the track well, something which fortunately went smoothly for him. "As leader you encounter stragglers first, that's definitely a disadvantage because despite the blue flags you don't know if they see you. Being decisive is crucial", concludes Ho-Pin Tung.
