Lewis Hamilton content with P2 for The Sprint: 'I just couldn't match it'
- Toby McLuskie
Lewis Hamilton will be starting P2 for tomorrow's Sprint race at the Italian Grand Prix, after his teammate, Valtteri Bottas claimed the starting spot. Despite being beaten by his teammate, Hamilton was content with what was achieved.
"Firstly, congratulations to Valtteri. He did a mega lap," Hamilton told Sky Sports after qualifying. "It was looking pretty good on my side up until then and he went quicker, I couldn't match it."
Every point counts
Hamilton went on to say explain how he knows that every point is important for both Formula 1 Championships, stating that, "as we've seen a championship can be lost, by one point. There has been a lot of points lost on both sides. These Sprint races can help close that gap."
