Max Verstappen was asked to give some tips for The website of Red Bull. Max Verstappen was asked to give some tips to people who, like him, want to be in Formula 1. For those who have the dream to make it in the world of motorsports, the Dutchman has five important tips.
As a young talent, Verstappen had the advantage of the right environment. Both his parents had experience in racing and Jos even made it to F1. An ideal mentor for the road ahead. Money was rarely a problem either. Jos enlisted the help of Raymond Vermeulen to arrange these things for Max.
Tips from Verstappen
''You need to find a good team to help you from the start. You don't know much about the sport in the beginning and you won't learn much on your own," is Verstappen's first tip. The Dutchman also believes that talents should take step by step. They should not be in a hurry to take the next step. This also applies to the step to international karting, according to Verstappen. ''I would never have done that if I wasn't ready for it''.
Getting to the top of motorsport costs a lot of money, so Max also advises looking for a good sponsor who can help you get the stuff you need. Not everything is necessary though. ''You don't necessarily need your own team. I drove with my father in a van. If you don't have that yourself, then the team can do this for you, but also this costs a lot of money'', concludes the Red Bull driver.
