'Hamilton was nervous that Verstappen did such a good job'

With seven races to go in the Formula 1 season, Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are under increasing pressure to perform. According to Ralf Schumacher, the Dutchman seems to be able to handle the pressure very well, he said in an interview with Motorsport.com.
Hamilton is having a tough time this season in his Mercedes. Whereas in the past years he was world champion a few races before the end of the season, this season the Briton has to fear that he will end up empty-handed. The seven-times world champion is doing everything he can to throw Verstappen off balance, but so far the Dutchman is not budging.
Verstappen causing nerves to Hamilton
Critics said at the start of the season that Verstappen needed to show what he was capable of under pressure, but that does not seem to be a problem for him. This is also the view of Ralf Schumacher who is closely following the battle between Hamilton and Verstappen. The German shows a lot of respect for the Red Bull Racing driver.
"I think Max Verstappen has made an incredible step," he tells the medium. "He is driving much more intelligently. He still takes risks, but not like before. Hamilton sometimes makes a mistake under great pressure but also handles the situation super. They are really each other's equals. You could also see how nervous Lewis was that Max did such a good job in Sochi."
