Ricciardo to drive Earnhardt’s NASCAR Cup car in US after Brown's promise
- GPblog.com
The United States Grand Prix will be a special weekend for Daniel Ricciardo. He gets to drive one of Dale Earnhardt's NASCAR Cup cars on the weekend of the GP, following a bet he made with McLaren team owner Zak Brown.
The McLaren team boss and the Australian had agreed that he could drive this car if he would get his first podium for the team. He got his first McLaren podium at the Italian Grand Prix where he crossed the finish line first and Lando Norris followed him in second place.
Number three as a tribute
Riccardio drives in Formula 1 with number three which is also a tribute to the NASCAR legend. He will be eager to drive Earnhardt's car, which is part of Brown's private collection.
It was still a long question when the NASCAR test would take place, but McLaren has now confirmed that it will happen this weekend.
You saw that right.
