On November 29, 2020, the Formula 1 world will stand still for a moment. During the Bahrain Grand Prix, Romain Grosjean experienced a horror crash when he drove into the crash barrier at almost two hundred kilometres per hour and his car burst into flames. The Frenchman escapes with minor injuries. In the book 'Le Mort En Face' he wrote about the accident.

Death in the face

Grosjean wrote the book Le Mort En Face, which means 'death in the face', together with his wife Marion. "How, and why, did I get out alive? The first question I can easily answer; the second much less so. The whole world spoke of a 'miracle' and I have been carrying the responsibility and the stigma ever since. This is one of the reasons why I like to testify here," Grosjean tells at F1Only.

Apart from the crash, Grosjean also talks about his childhood and his family and life as a Formula One driver. The Frenchman made his Formula One debut with Renault in 2009 and drove for Lotus and Haas in the following years. In 2013 he had his best season with a seventh place in the championship. In the Lotus, he was on the podium six times that year. In his final years with Haas, however, Grosjean hardly scored any points. Nowadays he drives in the American IndyCar.
