Ferrari bad in front of American fans: 'I was quite disappointed'

Americans are getting more and more interested in Formula 1, witness the fact that there were 140,000 spectators for the race in Austin. According to Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc the spectators must be becoming fans of Ferrari.
F1 in America
With the United States Grand Prix and the Miami GP in 2022 America again has two Grands Prix on its calendar. There is also the possibility of a race in Las Vegas, making all of Liberty Media's dreams come true. With these races and the popularity of Drive to Survive, F1 seems to be on the rise in America.
''I’ve certainly felt quite a bit of change in the sport’s following from social media with American fans. I think obviously Netflix had the biggest impact on that. As a sport, we’ve always been relatively [behind] closed doors, and Netflix has allowed fans in America, and all over the world, to see the personalities of the drivers,'' Sainz says at gq.com.
Why Ferrari?
However, according to the Spaniard, Ferrari did not feature well in the series on Netflix. ''The season three episode [of Drive to Survive] about Ferrari is not so great, and I was relatively disappointed when I watched it because Ferrari is a lot cooler, a lot bigger, a lot better, than how it appears [in that episode].''
Sainz's teammate does know why Americans should become fans of their team. ''For me, Ferrari is the most iconic team ever in Formula 1 – they’ve achieved so much and have been there from the beginning. They’re such an incredible team, and have had most of the legends of the sport'', concludes the Monegasque.
