Sainz sees fight with Mclaren as training: "At Ferrari we want to win"

Ferrari will do everything in their power to secure third place in the Constructors' Championship this year. To do so, the team has to beat a strong opponent in the form of McLaren. Carlos Sainz sees the whole thing as a good exercise for the future.
In the press conference ahead of the Mexico Grand Prix, where he has failed to score any points in his five appearances so far, Sainz said, "I was always fast here, drove some strong laps in qualifying, but we couldn't convert those into good race results. Stability is a big issue here, the engine and the brakes are heavily loaded and I've had problems with that in the past."
Sainz hopes for better results in Mexico
"I hope it will be better this time, at least we have everything we need to have a good weekend," continued the Spaniard. "I'm cautious though, because even though this circuit should be good for us, I don't know if it's enough to be really competitive".
As for third place in the constructors' championship, the Ferrari driver sees it mainly as good practice for the future. "I think it's more of a symbolic goal, because at Ferrari we obviously want to win. We are preparing to be up front again in the future and therefore the fight against a strong team like McLaren is a good exercise", concludes Sainz.
