Final starting grid Mexico GP: Red Bull chases Mercedes from the second row
- GPblog.com
As with the United States Grand Prix, there are many grid penalties this weekend. Valtteri Bottas will start from pole position with teammate Lewis Hamilton next to him in P2. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will start from the second row.
George Russell, Lando Norris, Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda and Esteban Ocon all receive grid penalties for the race in Mexico. The drivers all changed parts of their engines and will start from the back of the grid.
The front row of the grid in Mexico is not the most advantageous position due to the strong slipstream, so will this give the Red Bulls the chance to overtake at turn one?
Pierre Gasly will complete the top five and due to the penaltties, Kimi Raikkonen will also start from inside the top ten. Ferrari are also well placed in P6 and P8, but they will have to take into account Daniel Ricciardo, who will start between the two red cars.
