Max Verstappen had to settle for a second best time during qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Dutchman could not match the time of Lewis Hamilton who finished gloriously on the first position. Christian Horner was satisfied afterwards.

The team boss sees that the German rival has an edge this weekend. "I think the new Mercedes engine has definitely given them some extra horsepower so I think second was the best that we could have hope for," he told Red Bull's press release. "To be on the front row tomorrow, we can be happy with that."

Exciting sprint race between Mercedes and Red Bull

Hamilton and Verstappen will start Saturday's sprint race on the front row of the grid. Horner doesn't dare make any predictions about how the sprint race will go, but thinks that the teams at the front will once again be close together.

"So much can happen in these sprint races, as we’ve seen this season, so you’ve just got to go for it at the start, then see where you are. I think we’ve got a good race car and it’s going to get hotter throughout the weekend so that will also be a factor here, it’s been pretty cool on track today so let’s see in the race tomorrow."
