Valtteri Bottas' first place in the sprint race brought him back closer to Lewis Hamilton in the qualifying duel. However, the Finn will not be able to make up the seven point gap. There were also surprises at other teams.

Nicholas Latifi could breathe a sigh of relief during the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Canadian finally managed to be faster than his teammate George Russell, putting him ahead of the Brit at the start of the race. At the same time, Esteban Ocon took the lead against his Alpine teammate. The Frenchman was 9-9 up against Fernando Alonso, but experienced a better sprint race than the two-time world champion.

Verstappen may have lost his first position to Bottas in the sprint race, but he increased his lead in the qualifying duel. The Dutchman has been faster than Sergio Perez 17 times this season.
