The Hungarian Grand Prix was not the best weekend in the history of Red Bull and Max Verstappen. The Dutchman undoubtedly envisioned his two hundredth race differently. He complained about lack of grip all weekend and couldn't get it together, something Christijan Albers also noticed.
In the podcast of De Telegraaf, Albers looked back on Verstappen's weekend. He analyzed Verstappen's onboards and made a rather particular statement.
"I of course also watched the onboards. Well, 'cannons', I was almost putting on a pair of sunglasses and a baseball cap, because that was really about nothing. If you saw how he was struggling and we all know he doesn't like understeer."

Albers continued: "When you then see how much understeer he had mid-corner, that was unbelievable.''
''He absolutely does not like that. You then also see on such a circuit, if it doesn't go and he is looking for grip and suddenly Tsunoda is closer. You see that he can't find it and then doesn't feel at home.''
''If you know that a car is bad, then the drivers are always close together. If a car is good and it goes fast, the gap gets a bit bigger again."

What does Verstappen expect from the rest of the season?

The Dutchman therefore had a very disappointing weekend in Hungary. However, he is still third in the championship, in part due to victories in Suzuka and Imola. After the race, Verstappen addressed his chances for the rest of the year with GPblog and others.
