Over the weekend, Jos Verstappen participated in the Rally Sierra Morena in Spain this weekend, meaning he could not watch the Japanese Grand Prix in full. After the race, the Dutchman was informed about how his son, Max Verstappen, had performed during the race.

Jos Verstappen eager for result when finished

Verstappen Sr. participated in the European Rally Championship for the first time this weekend, finishing fourteenth in the final standings of the rally, which took place in southern Spain last weekend.

After his own session had concluded, Verstappen Sr. was asked if he wanted to know the result of the race at Suzuka. He responded, "Yes, please!"

The reporter then told him that his son had won the Grand Prix at Suzuka after taking pole position superbly. Verstappen Sr. was happy to hear that: "That's very good, very important. We were watching just before the start of the stage. We couldn't watch the last fourteen laps, but it's good."

Due to his victory, Max has narrowed the gap with Lando Norris to just one point, making the championship incredibly exciting after three races. This weekend, there will be racing again, but this time for the Bahrain Grand Prix. During the winter tests, which also took place at the Bahrain International Circuit, McLaren were very fast and impressive.
