Schumacher sees Hamilton make mistakes: 'I learnt a lot from that'

Mick Schumacher finally seems to be making his breakthrough in F1. After a tough period in which he did not score any points, he battled with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in the last two races and scored his first points.

Schumacher took his first points in F1 at the British Grand Prix with an eighth-place finish. P7 seemed attainable, but the reigning world champion held off the German. A week later Schumacher fought another world champion. In the battle with Hamilton, he did pass him once and learned an important lesson.

Schumacher the travelling star

''I think the main thing that I learned is that everybody’s human. Everybody makes mistakes and everybody, when they’re under pressure, at some time gets to a point where they do make mistakes. That, I think, is important to me to know that and not be afraid about fighting with anybody out there,'' the son of Michael Schumacher said to Racer.com.

Schumacher has finally found confidence because, after an eighth-place at Silverstone, a sixth-place immediately followed in Austria. On the Red Bull Ring, Mick was particularly convincing in the duel with Hamilton. He forced the seven times world champion into mistakes and kept the Briton behind him for a long time. So now he has learned a lot from that.

Ham held up by haas due to straight line speed and if they guy in front gets drs. Use your brains. Austria is a power track. Ham is the winner of 2021. Robbed by illegal masi, hence his sacking. Never to return. Horner moaned at masi, let them race because his ugly as fk boy has brand new softs. And hell sling it up the inside, because even if there is contact, I'll still win.

Dang 13 July 2022 at 15:17+ 3050

No need to insult max.....let's keep it all about racing.. just make your point else the politics takes over at the expense of the racing which is what brings us all here

CJ77 14 July 2022 at 13:23+ 10555

Austria is a torque track. Its too short to be a power track. Imola is a power track.

CJ77 14 July 2022 at 13:30+ 10555

Also lets not forget Lewis was only within 30pts due to him taking Max out in Silverstone and Bottas repeating the feat at the following race.

CJ77 12 July 2022 at 16:31+ 10555

When i stated he made the same mistake lap after lap I didnt know what I was talking about and just twisting it for my own agenda. Least Mick agrees.

Sir Lewis will make everyone eat their words when he wins a race on an even playing field. Has never happened but the laws of probability suggest it will. Mathematically very possible.

Dang 12 July 2022 at 13:10+ 3050

Preemptive strike....in case it happens...why not say the same about Tsunoda...Zhou ....latifi...

Ashysdad 12 July 2022 at 13:56+ 565

Only the fastest cars win races. Hamilton had one for a few years, Ferrari had a chance. Hamilton driving was what made him the winner. Max has a faster car this year and last year. Yet he couldn't win races in an inferior car. Best drivers get the best cars and that's how they win.

CJ77 12 July 2022 at 16:34+ 10555

Not true. Alonso wasnt in the fastest car for his 2 WDCs. Schumacher also didnt have the fastest car for majority of his championships. 97 Ferrari was still a dog on a par with this years Merc but Schumacher still managed to haul it around to get the championship to a final race decider. The outcome of that race was less than desirable for him sadly.

kingmjj 13 July 2022 at 20:27+ 5

that ferrari was not on par with this years merc lmao thats way too much of a stretch.

CJ77 13 July 2022 at 20:29+ 10555

well according to Wolff etc, they are only a few tenths behind. 97 Ferrari was about the same behind yet Schumacher won with it and took the fight to the last laps.

Ferrarifanatic 12 July 2022 at 10:02+ 14286

Its not that hard to get passed Hamilton. He is too used to driving a superior car and is not used to positioning his car to avoid being overtaken. Hamilton can learn from Alonso, Perez and Gasly on how to make your car take up space.

OptimusPrime 12 July 2022 at 10:24+ 238

And you can learn alot from Nelson Piquet that when you dont have anything sensible to say about anyone rather just stay quiet plz

Ferrarifanatic 12 July 2022 at 14:07+ 14286

Did my comment have a racist connotation. No, yet you are implying that it did. My comment is sensible and racing related as opposed to yours which is inciting racism and well, just pretty pointless!!

kingmjj 13 July 2022 at 20:26+ 5

calling that comment sensible was a bit of a stretch

Ferrarifanatic 14 July 2022 at 11:04+ 14286

It's a sign of a low level of intelligence, when someone has nothing of value to add, so there only comeback is an insult!!

lewis fans resort to personal insults when you show them the truth about lewis! they love to live in their fairyland, where lewis has 8 titles and a rocketship!

Ferrarifanatic 13 July 2022 at 20:35+ 14286

And yours is????

Ashysdad 12 July 2022 at 13:54+ 565

Is they the same 3 that finished behind Hamilton this week. And one that finished in front last week in a rocket ship? Hamilton has an inferior car to Redbull and Ferrari yet passed them at Silverstone. And got 3rd finished 3rd at Austria again in an inferior car to the Redbull and Ferrari.. overtime ok 6 people in track. Maybe you are watching the race on an Xbox game. Either that or your hate has blinded you. It does not say much for Max if Hamilton is easy to over take yet Hamilton has done it to max and Max was in the fastest car last season.

Ferrarifanatic 12 July 2022 at 14:15+ 14286

So you don't follow F1. Ok, thought so!!! So you did not see the masterclass of Perez in Abu Dhabi and also Alonso and Gasly showing Hamilton how to keep a car behind you! Hamilton only finished 3rd due to Ferrari and Redbull having mechanical issues. No great achievement there!!! And the hate comments, well try reading my comment again and let me know how you derive hatred from that!!! Don't forget to think before you read this time!!!

CJ77 12 July 2022 at 16:44+ 10555

Everything is black and white to Hamilton fans. They dont factor in damage, tires etc. Hamilton was just faster full stop at Silverstone.

It's like battle which he had with Max at Silverstone unlocked something in him. Even Steiner said, he learnt a lot on that day related to car positioning.

JEM 12 July 2022 at 11:07+ 12694

Yes, Charles had good run on Max. But we can all agree that the Ferrari package was faster than the Red Bull package in Austria. Can we say the same about the Haas and the Mercedes package, when Mick overtook Lewis?

User Avatar
Prinsje 12 July 2022 at 11:23+ 18804

Don't say that those Ham fans will call you blind and delusional.

Lol lost the argument on the other post and now embarking on another crusade. JEM, JEM,JEM. Take some time read the post interviews from Binotto and Horner, they will shed some light as to reasons Redbull lost, nothing to do with you false narrative. Yes the Haas and Mick are far superior to Lewis and Mercedes, who was driving a brand new car, that has the 3rd fastest engine. You're absolutely brilliant in your assessment ?

User Avatar
Bret 14 July 2022 at 09:59+ 43891

Toto has stated that the Merc is only 0.2 sec behind the ferrari n rb, something which i stated after the canadian gp. Sky f1 data and ofcourse the data from merc garage is proof enough that Mercs are only 0.2 behind the top guns. A good driver can make up for 0.2 and take the fight to the top guns but lewis doesnt possess that skill!

I also have that idiot blocked! He makes up his "own" facts to support the mediocrity of lewis. he is so delusional that he thinks making multi a/c and supporting lewis here will make lewis a better driver lol. he can forget about lewis 8th title, because even if lewis gets a rocketship, he will get dusted by russell.

Vegan, King Zulu (or whatever new name he calls himself today) and a couple of others dont answer questions. They twist everything to suit their own narrative because they are only interested in trolling and dont actually have factual answers that prove their stance.

JEM 12 July 2022 at 12:30+ 12694

No narrative, I am just asking a question. Is it so difficult to answer a question?

Thats your narrative, mate, you're the brilliant expert, or did you lie again in your post ?

CJ77 12 July 2022 at 16:39+ 10555

Ill assume that quote is from Vegan as I have the idiot blocked. Hamiltons car wasnt brand new. He had already been using that chassis previously and the one he destroyed was the new one :)

Prinsje 12 July 2022 at 17:19+ 18804

The Haas superior than the Merc? I want the drugs he's taking

JEM 12 July 2022 at 12:02+ 12694

Lol, Prinsje already warned me about your reply. Thanks for confirming his point. But seriously, the Haas is the superior to the Mercedes? "Yes the Haas and Mick are far superior to Lewis and Mercedes, who was driving a brand new car, that has the 3rd fastest engine."

Ashysdad 12 July 2022 at 13:51+ 565

I would say Haas had more straight line speed. But Hamilton did pass him with DRS and never seen him again. Ferrari and Redbull have similar pace more often Redbull is faster. It was tyre degregation that did not help max. And in the end he was catching leclerc and had the fastest lap. You don't do that in a slow car.

CJ77 14 July 2022 at 13:19+ 10555

Seriously? So Max wasnt catching Leclerc for any other reason like Leclerc having to lift of the throttle earlier due to the throttle pedal issue he had. It was mentioned on team radio several times that he was having to do this to ensure his throttle closed off.

Coderlovesracing 12 July 2022 at 10:32+ 671

The boy just acknowledged that a legend like Lewis made him know he's human too. That's all you should know lol

User Avatar
Bret 14 July 2022 at 09:38+ 43891

Lewis is getting exposed from all the young boys on the grid! Without the rocketship, Lewis would be no one! He would perhaps only have 1 title under his belt without the rocketship!
