Spielberg weather forecast does not bode well for Austrian GP

There is a good chance of rain during the sessions for the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend. Especially qualifying, the Sprint Shootout and the sprint race threaten to be wet sessions. Read the latest weather report for Spielberg here.

Rain showers are scheduled for the afternoon on Friday 30 June, the day of the first free practice and qualifying sessions for the Austrian GP, according to Weather. com. It will be warm in Styria with a maximum of 25 degrees, but between 3 and 7pm local time, the chance of rain is more than 30 per cent.

Due mainly to heavy showers between 3 and 6pm, there is a good chance that qualifying at 5pm local time will also be held in wet conditions at the Red Bull Ring. In the evening it dries up slightly, but from Friday to Saturday the weather only gets worse in Spielberg.

Throughout the night, the chances of showers are particularly high and that rain also continues into the morning and afternoon. Between 9am and 2pm local time, the chance of rain is no lower than 80 per cent. The temperature is not helping either. Indeed, it will not get warmer than 18 degrees on Saturday. Completely different conditions therefore for the Sprint Shootout and the sprint race.

On Sunday 2 July, the day of the Austrian Grand Prix, things seem to turn around a bit. It will then be 24 degrees maximum again and it will even be sunny in the morning. However, showers are predicted again on Sunday, especially in the afternoon. The chance of rain on Sunday is 35 per cent.
