Laurent Rossi was born in 1975 on the island of Corsica. The Frenchman had an interest in motorsports and especially Formula 1 from an early age. The technology in particular aroused his interest and it is therefore no surprise that Rossi has a Master of Science in Fluid Mechanics and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive engines. & Petroleum Products owns.

After his studies, Rossi started working at Groupe Renault in 2000. He became project leader in the Powertrain division of the French brand. However, Rossi had not yet finished college and moved to the United States to earn an MBA from Harvard Business School. He received his MBA in 2009 and shortly after he was recruited to work for the Boston Consulting Group in New York. There he held the position of project manager, specializing in cars.

In 2012, Rossi was ready for the next step. The Frenchman stayed in America and went to work for Google as a Global Accounts Business Manager. He oversaw business relationships with key accounts in the automotive industry. After nearly ten years in the U.S. having lived there, Rossi decided to return to France in 2018. He started working again for his first employer, Groupe Renault. First in the strategy and business development department and not much later as a CSO.

Renault was present as a constructor in Formula 1 until 2020. In 2021, the brand transformed from Renault to Alpine, which is the sports division of the French brand. Many changes were made, including the departure of team principal Cyril Abiteboul. As of January of 2021, Rossi was appointed CEO of Alpine and Alpine F1 Team. Rossi must ensure that the exclusive and innovative line-up of the car brand is developed. By 2025, the French brand should be profitable and last but not least, its involvement in motorsport should be increased.

Rossi's first Formula 1 season had a very big highlight. The 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix was a crazy race that was eventually won by Alpine's Esteban Ocon. The second podium under Rossi's leadership came towards the end of that season. In Qatar Fernando Alonso drove his A521 to third position.
