Video | Kvyat and Latifi both spin in first bend
In the first free practice, Max Verstappen already demonstrated that the Red Bull Ring hasn't been used for a long time. At the beginning of the second free practice session another turn turned out to be a tricky one for several drivers. Because there is still little grip on the track the first corner turned out to be a sticky point.
First Daniil Kvyat spun his AlphaTauri in the first corner. Eventually, he managed to keep his car out of the wall. The Russian driver had to go into the pits for new tyres. A few minutes later it was rookie Nicholas Latifi's turn to spin the car. For him, it was the first day as an F1 driver and in the opening stages of the second free practice session, he also showed himself several times on the track.
In the end, the Williams driver also managed to keep his car out of the wall, although he spun again a lap later. This time he didn't do that in the first corner, but in the third corner, at the slowest point of the track. So far the second free practice session is still quiet, which can be followed live here.
