Verstappen nowhere near limit with fastest lap on Friday

Max Verstappen was the fastest man in Bahrain during both the first and second free practice sessions. Although the differences with the competition are small, he did this with apparent ease. You can see that on these onboard images.
Limit is still far away
The RB16B of the Dutchman seems to run on rails. He really has grip everywhere. Nowhere does it have wheelspin or a moment that the car breaks out. This could mean that this car is truly superior, but it also means that Verstappen was nowhere near the limit today.
And so were most of the other drivers. Verstappen's fastest time of a 1:30.847 is still almost two seconds away from the fastest time he set here in the winter test and also more than a second slower than last year's first free practice.
