'FIA checked rear suspension Red Bull in Barcelona'
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing showed during the three test days in Barcelona that the competition should take the Austrian racing team seriously this season. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez performed so well that Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds took a careful look at the racing team and let La Gazzetta dello Sport know.
Verstappen, with Red Bull, won the world championship last season, but it was the FIA's expectation that most teams would struggle in the preseason. That hardly seems to be the case, however, as the Austrian outfit came out excellently in Spain last week.
To ensure that Red Bull stayed within the lines of the rules and regulations, Brawn and Symonds reportedly chose to take a closer look at the car. For example, both men reportedly looked primarily at the rear suspension that the team came out with this season. The FIA would not have observed anything strange in the process.
New Formula 1 season draws closer
The teams will have another opportunity to test in Bahrain soon. On Friday, 18 March the first free practice sessions are scheduled, after which the drivers can prepare for the first race of the season on 20 March.
