Andretti Formula Racing has received approval from the
FIA. This means
Formula 1 is likely to go from 10 teams to 11. Andretti Formula Racing will still have to go to the FOM for commercial discussions. Andretti Formula Racing was the only constructor to meet the stringent requirements set by the FIA.
Andretti Formula Racing in Formula 1?
After a while of deliberation, the knot has been tied. The FIA has approved Andretti's application. This means there is a chance the team will compete in
F1. The FIA approved Andretti Formula Racing's application based on technical and sporting analyses done by the team.
Andretti Formula Racing also met the environmental targets, which were in line with those of the FIA. Any team that wanted to race in
Formula 1 in the future also had to outline how they planned to achieve a positive
social impact through their participation in the sport.
""We note the FIA’s conclusions in relation to the first and second phases of their process and will now conduct our own assessment of the merits of the remaining application." Formula 1 itself let us know.
