Antonio Giovainzzi is fed up with the fact that his adventure in Formula 1 has come to an end. The Italian driver would have liked to continue with Alfa Romeo Racing, but Frederic Vasseur's team chose for Guanyu Zhou. According to Giovinazzi, there is only one good reason.

Via his social media he says: "Formula 1 is talent, technique, risk, speed. But it can also be ruthless when money dictates the rules. I believe in small and big victories achieved on one's own merits. This was my first photo in an F1 car, the last [photo] hasn't been taken yet," Giovinazzi said.

The 27-year-old driver has already set his sights on a return in 2023. It remains to be seen which team he will join, especially since his performance in recent years has been pretty inconsistent. It is still unknown in which race class Giovinazzi will be active in 2022.

I think it was unfair to Gio to make the anouncement so late in the season. They could have handled it in a way so that he could drive full throttle fuelled by passion, not toxic pressure. Not commenting on the decision itself, the team probably needed the money, so you can understand where they come from. But in the end, this is F1. It has always been like this.
